Hello, my name is Monica Failes, and I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my mother, Maria Puente. Maria, better known as Teresa in our hometown, is a 42-year-old wife and mother of 6 kids, the youngest children being nine and 13-year-old boys. At the beginning of November, our mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer that has metastasized(spread) to her liver. The Doctors and staff at HCA Hospital worked quickly to diagnose and start treatment. They performed Colon surgery to remove the part of her colon that had cancer, but they couldn't remove the masses they found in her liver. The Oncologist has said there isn't a cure for her cancer, but we can manage it with Chemotherapy and hopefully slow the growth. My mother, at this time, does not have health insurance and cannot work due to her current health status. We are asking for some financial assistance to help pay for the medical bills and her future chemo appointments, which have been set to begin in January. Anyone who knows my mother knows she's the strongest and kindest person you'll ever meet. She has a smile that lights up a room and a heart of gold. She's the glue that holds our family together. We want her to be with us as long as the Lord is willing. We all greatly appreciate and accept all the prayers and donations we can get. Thank you.
