Support for Beloved Katya Lesher to Return Home
Donation protected
This past week, our beloved Katya Lesher, Vallecitos Retreat Manager, was diagnosed with advanced Stage IV metastatic Brain Cancer. She is in hospice care, hospitalized in Albuquerque. She is going to travel to Rochester, NY to be with her family in her end of life process. Because she is very weak, cannot walk independently, and cannot see clearly due to the tumors pressing on her optic nerve, she hopes to take a private chartered flight from Albuquerque to Rochester as soon as possible. We are hoping to raise $21,000 to cover the expenses associated with this flight. She is very much ready to be out of the hospital and return to her family.
A remarkable physician at the hospital told Katya that "perhaps the kindest option is to let go of the trauma of treatment and the searching for what the causes may be.'" Upon hearing this Katya felt her body immediately relax and said "I don't want to fight - there is no battle here. I want my energy to go toward beauty and love." When we ask her how she is, she responds "I am present." And she is. She said to a dear friend "Go deeper - find the gifts."
This is the spirit of her end of life journey. Your support is deeply appreciated.
Maia Duerr is kindly putting the flight on her credit card, and will be reimbursed by go fund me.
