Lila needs surgery!
Lila needs our help! This beautiful Rottweiler is only two years old, and has been suffering unnecessarily for over a year. Together, we can significantly improve the quality of her life for what we hope will be another decade!
Lila has a blown knee. It was misdiagnosed as bone issues, back problems, and other vague "issues" that could not be treated. Finally, a specific problem was found! It's correctible! And unfortunately, the surgery for ACL reconstruction is just too expensive for our dear friends, co-workers, and bosses Ashley & Matt Lloyd.
Ashley has been rescuing pit bulls, pit mixes, cats, ferrets, and a host of other animals for over 15 years. Before she had children, she would take in the abused and injured, and spend her own money to have them patched up, spayed, neutered, vaccinated, and re-homed. Ashley has spent thousands of her own hard-earned dollars rescuing others! Now, she needs a little help to rescue one of her own.
Lila lives with Ashley and Matt and their two beautiful young boys. She's not half the dog and family member that she used to be, though. The chronic pain has started to change her. This corrective surgery will give her a new lease on life and help to restore her to her natural, playful, social, awesome self.
Lila has been a fixture at Kendall's Ace Hardware almost since birth. Kendall's Ace Hardware on Payne Ave (in Saint Paul) is well known for the cats, dogs, and occasional bird. The furry friends are part of what make Kendall's Ace the Friendliest Stores in Town. If we can get her into surgery and through six months of recovery (!), she will be part of the Ace Family again, as well as the Lloyd family.
Without the surgery, Lila faces another 10 years of pain. She will eventually withdraw, and will no doubt cease to enjoy life. Ashley and Matt will still love her. But they will have to love her at home, alone. And maybe even steer the boys away from her.
Help us give Lila her life and happiness back. Help us take away the pain. Please help us to help a young, wonderful couple that has already put so much help into the Animal World and now needs a little help from us.
