Update from Jessica
Hello my family and friends!
I want to give everyone an update on my cancer journey. Many of you learned of this in mid July. The amount of texts, calls, messages, visits, and donations that we have received is absolutely heartwarming! On June 25th, 2025 I was admitted to the hospital due to heavy bleeding, shortness of breath, swelling in my legs, and a very low blood count. Over the course of the next 8 days I received 11 blood transfusions. I also underwent two procedures to make sure that the bleeding stopped completely.
I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cervical Cancer on July 5th, 2025. I immediately started my treatment plan the next day. That plan consisted of 7 Chemotherapy treatments that lasted between 5 and 8 hours each treatment for 7 weeks straight. Chemo was running simultaneously with my external (beam) radiation treatments that were 5 days a week for over two months straight. (67 days) Then I started my internal radiation procedures that would last about 6 hours a session twice a week for a month and a half. Currently I am.under going Immunotherapy treatments every three weeks, and will hopefully be finished by April 2026. Just give you an idea on the world of cancer....EACH Immunotherapy treatment is $10,000+. That is just for these treatments, not including all of the other treatments, hospital stays, surgeries, medical devices, and prescriptions.
In August I unfortunately developed a large blood clot in my left leg (due to cancer) and had a surgery to remove it. I am currently still recovering from that surgery. I am still trying to recover my muscles mass from when I lost 34 lbs. in the month of July. Fortunately, I have gained my weight back with a little muscle. I am at a place where I can update everyone myself. It is a good thing I have Norwegian Viking in me lol, because I needed every last strand of it along the way!
I am doing a ton better than before, however have a long road still in front of us. I say us in regards to my family! My husband, my daughters, and my granddaughter helped SAVE MY LIFE!! My husband LITERALLY morphed into a superhero and did anything and everything necessary to make sure I was going to survive and thrive!! I am blessed beyond measure!! I do not care what it takes or how hard it is.....WE WILL GET TO THE FINISH LINE!! When I have any other updates in the near future, I will post for sure!
I have to point out that my Cancer Care Team consists of about 28 people in total. They have been ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!
Just know that if you know anyone that is fighting any form of cancer.....it is actually a FIGHT FOR THEIR LIFE and they need ALL of the help that they can get. Whether that looks like a listening ear, a meal delivered, a small cash donation, donated supplies, or just to come over and clean their home because they cannot.....it all is important and so very appreciated!
As I get stronger and healthier, I look to educate others on Cervical Cancer and what the dreaded "C" word does and can mean to a person and a family.
I thank everyone who has stood with us along the way! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Sending love and light your way! ❤️
