Help Samuel - A Dream Born From Struggle

Hey all. I’m Samuel from India. Long story short, It has always been a dream to go to the US and study, but the word “how” was stuck in my mind for a long time. My family is three, me, my mom, and dad. I’m an only child, my parents are almost 70 years old. We lived most of our lives in a 400sqft home. It was tough, but that’s all we could afford. Honestly, I’m not an intelligent person, but I focused and strived to finish school and then Bachelors. I got a job through college placement at an American AI company here in India, but just after 6 months, recession meant layoffs. I was idle, trying to get a job but couldn’t. That's when I decided to pursue my masters.

I was made fun of, insulted, and told that I was nothing but a loser by my friends and relatives the last two years as I was unemployed or idle at home. Little did they know that I've been depressed, trying to look for a way and working towards the goal of doing masters in the US. I spent weeks of research and applied to desired universities and got admits. And then came the obstacle. Money. All of my loans got rejected although my father was co-applicant. Finally, I managed to get a loan from MPower without any collateral or co-applicant but with a hefty interest that i need to pay while studying. Nevertheless, I was willing to go ahead and work hard. Getting a Visa was really a miracle, even the education consultants said my profile is weak and that I wouldn’t get a visa, but I was confident because I had God on my side. My journey started from the 1st week of August 2024.

Although I have a loan, there’s interest that I have to pay every month(almost 600$)even when studying along with rent, food, and etc. So, anything that you can help with will be really appreciated. Almost 7000$ will cost my interest for a year and the rest for my college expenses, transportation, room, etc. and i need to take care of my parents as well. I do not have any funds for tuition of my last semester. Im trying very hard to get an internship or a job but it has been hard as an international student. But i will never give up! Moving to a new country with almost nothing was fearful, confusing and challenging. But God helps. Above all, i believe in God’s plan over mine. I’m here only because of his grace and mercy. I believe he brought me here on a purpose. Faith over Fear! Please remember me and my family in your prayers!
