Hello friends and family! My Name is Tess, I’m Zach Baca’s girlfriend. I'm starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my boyfriend and his father Charles, who have been facing a life-changing emergency the last few days.

A few days ago, while packing up his stuff in his shop, Charles Baca suffered a minor heart attack. Thankfully the friends/crew at Team swollen acted quickly and called the ambulance. After Zach received the call his dad had an emergency, he left work and rushed to be by his dad’s side. As thankful as we were that Charles was okay and talking, we would soon find out what would be in store. Charles’ amazing friends were there when given the update that he would have to undergo emergency open-heart surgery. It was sudden and nerve wracking.

While the surgery was successful (which we are all so grateful for) , the recovery process is going to be long and difficult some days for Charles and Zach. However with the help of the people that love them coming together I’m sure it’ll make it a little easier.

Right now, my boyfriend is doing all he can to prep for his dad’s recovery and homecoming. Emotionally, physically, and financially while also trying to keep up with his own work and everyday responsibilities.

We don’t know yet how much the medical bills will be, but we already know it’s going to be more than they can manage alone. The goal of this fundraiser is to help ease the financial stress in the next couple weeks and months so they can focus on what really matters. Healing and being together.
