Darryll’s Recovery after a massive stroke
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Crystal, a friend and neighbour of Darryll and Karen.
On June 30th, Karen lived through a nightmare that will surely stay with her for quite some time. While getting ready for work she noticed her husband of 24 years, Darryll, showing signs of having a stroke. Karen recognized the symptoms and called EHS, who arrived very quickly. Thankfully, with Karen’s quick thinking, Darryll was in surgery one hour from onset.
After having a massive stroke, he is showing signs of confusion and having difficulty communicating, but the outcome looks positive. Darryll has a long road to recovery, that’s where I am hoping as a community we can all step in, assisting financially so they have one less thing to worry about. Karen has been at Darryll’s side since this happened, going home only for quick moments. She will need to take more time off work to assist with Darryll’s recovery, and it’s unknown when he will be well enough to return to work.
My family moved to this neighbourhood twelve years ago and very quickly, Darryll and Karen became a huge part of our lives. Karen had provided a few years of childcare for two of my children. I wish I could describe the love and warmth that she surrounded them with each day.
We drive by their house countless times in the run of a week and there hasn’t been a time that Darryll hasn’t offered a huge wave and smile as we drive by.
Darryll and Karen are salt of the earth people. They are real, hardworking and love without boundaries. They have raised two incredible boys into young men with morals and values.
If you can offer any financial assistance it would be very appreciated. If not, may you please share this post.
