Help Sheila with medical expenses
Donation protected
Sheila Murphy is a single parent raising two high school aged daughters and her granddaughter, Kelahni. Kelahni received severe brain injuries as an infant, so will never walk or talk, or have much movement at all. Kelahni receives home care from 7:00am to 7:00pm so that Sheila can work.
Recently, Kelahni came down with high fever and infection which landed her in the hospital. Currently, she has been there for 17 days, which in turn means Sheila has been off work for that amount of time. When Sheila runs out of PTO, she will have unpaid absences from work and have no means to provide for their food, rent, etc. The doctors aren't sure when Kelahni will be able to go home, as she can no longer take nourishment by mouth and needs a feeding tube. Currently, the feeding tube is causing issues which need to be addressed before Kelahni can go home. When she does, Sheila may still be off work sporadically, as Kelahni will continue to have health issues in the future.
