Emerson’s Top Surgery Fund

Hi there! My name is Emerson, I am a 24 year old disabled trans man who is seeking donations to help me transition. My goal is to try and raise 5-10k so I can get Top surgery (double mastectomy), I am hoping I can raise enough money for this surgery so I won’t have to take all of my superannuation out so I won’t be left with nothing later in life.

I currently can only work part time under a minimum wage and unfortunately with the current living crisis I cannot afford to save very much because all of the money I earn from my work goes towards other medical expenses and groceries.

This surgery is medically necessary for my transition from female to male. I struggle a lot with gender dysphoria when it comes to my chest, and binding doesn’t help much as my chest is quite big so I’m never flat chested. Binding is very painful a lot of the time because it constricts my body, it causes severe back pain and chest pain (costrocondritis), it also effects my asthma and can make it difficult to breathe sometimes.

I have wanted chest surgery since I was 10-11 years old once I started growing them and going through female puberty. My chest causes a lot of discomfort mentally and physically and it sets me back in my confidence when trying to live my life.

This surgery will help save my life, it will help me feel free and will make me feel so incredibly happy.

I don’t expect to be able to reach my goal as I understand there is so much going on in the world right now, but even if I am able to reach half of my goal I will be incredibly grateful and I appreciate any donations even as small as $1. Every dollar counts and will go towards this surgery and recovery.
