We are three old college friends—Neil, Tony and Simon—taking on something slightly crazy: walking the full 85 miles of The Ridgeway.
Between us, we’ve clocked up 190 years, so this may be more of a challenge than we’d like to admit—but that’s part of the point.
We first met at Harper Adams University back in 1982, and the friendships we built then are still going strong 44 years later.
We’re not just doing this for the challenge, but to raise money for two causes that really matter to us:
ANDYSMANCLUB – a charity focused on men's mental health awareness and preventing male suicide and by offering free peer-to-peer support groups
White Ribbon UK – working to end violence against women and promote positive male behaviour
These are issues that affect all of us—our families, our friends, and our communities.
Why we’re doing it
After four decades of friendship, we wanted to take on something that reflects what’s kept us going all these years: camaraderie, support, and looking out for one another. This walk is our way of turning that into something positive for others.
The challenge
The Ridgeway, one of Britain’s oldest roads stretches 87 miles through a surprisingly remote part of southern central England. We’ll be walking the entire route—aching legs and all.
The Trail from its start in the World Heritage Site of Avebury in Wiltshire follows a ridge of chalk hills in a north-easterly direction to reach Ivinghoe Beacon lying to the northwest of London in Buckinghamshire.
Where your money goes
All funds raised will be split equally (50/50) between ANDYSMANCLUB and White Ribbon UK.
Once the walk is complete, we’ll share confirmation of the donations so you can see exactly where your support has gone.
Please support us
Whether it’s £5 or £50, every contribution makes a difference. And if you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thanks for your support—it really will make a difference and does mean a lot.
With our very best wishes
