Karen McCannon

On Wednesday, July 5th, Karen McCannon - a school teacher in Madison County, Georgia - arrived home from a brief outing to find her street lined with fire trucks and her home in flames. We are so grateful that she, her son, and dog are safe, but the contents of her home were heavily damaged. Most of her belongings were not able to be salvaged, so she and her son are having to start over with very little.Karen’s friends and colleagues have started this Go-Fund-Me page in the hopes of raising enough donations to get her back on her feet. The donations we raise will be used to pay for the following:Clean-up and restoration by SERVPRO - a disaster recovery companyBasic necessities for Karen and her son as they begin the new school yearFunds for a deposit on a home or apartment to rentA washer and dryer when they are settled in a new homeAny additional donations will be used to help furnish their new homeThank you to the many people who have already sent prayers, kind thoughts, and offers to help. It means so much to Karen and and her family as they begin to process what has happened and rebuild their lives.
