Living with Myasthenia Gravis

My name is Nikki and i'm starting a go fund me page for one of dearest and most beautiful souls i've ever had the honor to call my family. Sometimes life can be very unexpected, and things change your life forever. 2 years ago my step-mother Julia began a fight that no one in our family saw coming. Myasthenia Gravis was not a word we were familiar with. It is now our dreaded and everyday reality that Julia is learning to live with and our family is attempting to help her cope with daily. It is a neuromuscular disease that affects her muscles. She has good days and bad days, but the bad days are horrible. She has to be helped to walk on her bad days, her eating and swallowing are affected, and her speech is suffering. Up until 2 years ago, Julia was one of the most active women I had ever seen. Extremely active in all of our lives, gardening, and being a full time wife and mother. Unfortunately, this disease has robbed Julia of her life's passions and being able to do the things she truly loves and desires to do the most. She and my father, Sammy Horne, have Blue Cross and Blue Shield, but even after insurance pays, they have still spent over 40,000 out of pocket in the last 2 years on her care. Jules began receiving injections a few months back that we pray will boost her immune system, in order to assist her in fighting this disease. My father, by the grace of God, is able to work at 65 and provide as much as possible for their home. But, even after insurance pays their portion, their copay is around 2,000 per month just on those. My father works as much overtime as possible, but it is not enough and this will be an on going situation until we receive a much needed miracle. Their savings has been depleted and this will unfortunately be an ongoing medical expense for them. I am asking for anyone that may be in a position to help to please stand with them. Also please pray for my stepmother Julia, my father and my little brother.
