Those of you who know Shannon Dillon know she is one of the most selfless, giving people in our town. Many of you know of Shannon from her amazing professional photography, capturing the beauty and individuality of your seniors and families. Separate from her business, she and Rodrigo give their time and talents generously to our community. When Covid hit in 2020 and the government directed everyone to wear cloth masks, Shannon taught herself to sew to make masks for her family and gave masks for free to anyone and everyone who asked. After that began rehabbing dolls to give a second life to "well-loved" dolls and bring joy to so many kids and adults in a very dark time - again at no charge. Whenever she can, Shannon attends as many sporting and community events and activities as possible and posts pictures, again for free.
Sadly, Shannon and her family learned that their amazing, beloved dog, Percy, tore the ACL in both of his hind legs. As a result, he will need two major surgeries. The estimate for both surgeries is between $15,000-$20,000. If he doesn't get the surgery, he has no quality of life due to inability to walk and immobility. The first surgery is scheduled for 1/8 and will cost between $6,000-$9,000. A second surgery cost is contingent on how Percy does with the first. These surgeries present a major financial burden on their family. This is hitting the family on the heels of Shannon needing to replace her very old car with a used one. Shannon gives her heart and soul to this town. We wanted to establish this GoFundMe to give back and support Percy as a way to allow all of us who love and appreciate this amazing family to support them in their time of need. Shannon and Rodrigo would never ask for a handout. After learning about this, we recognized the difficulty of the situation and the additional financial stress it puts on their family. After discussing it with them, they agreed to allow us to set up this GoFundMe to help relieve this stress.
Shannon and Rodrigo would be most appreciative of any amount you can give to help them get Percy back on his feet. Every penny from this fundraiser will go directly to Percy and his medical expenses.
Thank you to anyone who donates. Please share this post widely, if we all give what we can, it will lighten their burden. ❤️
