Help Overcome Health and Financial Crisis

I could never have imagined how dramatically my life could change in 18 months. But a late evening emergency abdominal surgery, in February of 2023, complicated by two different major infections, a blood clot, and two falls, did indeed drastically change every aspect of my life. In the 7 months between February and September of 2023, I spent a grand total of four months in the hospital. I was sent home in September lacking even the ability to transfer out of my wheelchair without help. My health insurance company had determined there was nothing more it was willing to provide to improve my situation, At different stages of this journey, some wonderful people have helped out, including friends and family who hopped in cars, drove several hours, put their own lives on pause, and stayed for several weeks to help me. I will be forever grateful. However, I have, since September 2023, incurred thousands of dollars in uninsured costs, primarily for private home health care, adaptive equipment, and ongoing necessary medical supplies. What I once thought was a modest, but relatively comfortable, nest egg, was gone by Thanksgiving. I sold my car in January. I have maxed out several credit cards. I have taken out loans. My physical health has suffered. My emotional health has suffered…and any semblance of financial security is long gone. And now, I am swallowing every bit of pride I have to ask for help. I only ask a couple of things: please don’t feel ANY sense of obligation to donate; and please don’t judge me too harshly for asking for help. I would rather be doing almost anything other than making this request, I am, by turns, humiliated, humbled, and embarrassed to ask. But since I am I am asking, I want to be as transparent as I can possibly be. If anyone needs more information to in order make a decision, reach out and I will do my best to provide more detail. Thank you in advance for reading this.
