Hi, my name is Lindsay and I'm the owner of The Frayed Page, an independent bookstore in Enderby. I opened the store in September of 2025, and though it has been a wonderful experience, we are struggling to the point where I was starting to lose hope of keeping the doors open much past our one-year mark. Then, as it often does, the universe added a twist, a chance to move to a space on Main Street where the store will have much higher visibility to shoppers and will have lower overhead costs.
Here's the kicker: after four months of barely breaking even, there are bills coming out my ears, and the budget for moving and all it entails is basically nonexistent.
Asking for help when I know times are tough for everyone doesn't come easily to me, but I truly feel that making this move will mean keeping the dream that is The Frayed Page alive. If you can help, please know what it means to my family and I.
Even if it isn't feasible financially, every share and like helps this campaign reach more people. Here is a list of what donations would be used for:
• Damage deposits and possibly rent until I can find someone to take over my current lease.
• Legal costs for the lease negotiations.
• Moving or possibly buying out current services like alarm, internet.
• Painting.
• All the little inevitable things that come with moving.
