Hi all!
My name is Tate, I'm transmasculine and nonbinary and started my transition at the beginning of 2021, after years of struggling to come to terms with my gender. I'm lucky in that I have a supportive group of friends and a wonderful wife, as well as a workplace that has tried to learn and grow through this with me.
I'm bad at asking for help. Like, really bad. But some friends suggested that I set this up so I've decided to give it a try, because we've had a lot of very unfortunate emergencies over the past year and money is a bit tight.
My consultation for top surgery is coming up at the end of June. My chest is a point of huge dysphoria for me, and luckily my insurance does cover a portion of it. However, I will have to travel to Seattle for the surgery and pay quite a bit out of pocket. This fund is to help for those additional costs. Depending on what the final bill looks like, any extra funds raised would go towards other transition-related costs (hormones/labs/possibly voice training at some point this year).
