Support Ryan’s Fight Against Cancer

Ryan was in remission from Hodgkins Lymphoma and has devastatingly relapsed at the end of last year, 2025.

The last time he was diagnosed was in May of 2020 after being misdiagnosed in July 2019 when he was only 17 years old. In 2020, he was in stage 3 and had to undergo immunotherapy, mostly alone as it was during COVID. The immunotherapy was successful.. for a while. This time around he will need to undergo stronger treatment to prevent another relapse. The oncologist states that he will be going through chemotherapy for an estimated 6 months if the diagnosis is the same as it was before.

Ryan will be very weak with various other common side effects and likely unable to perform his normal daily tasks also making it extremely difficult to attend work daily, particularly after treatment sessions. We are kindly asking for your support during these dark times. It is highly important to us that we spend these dark times beside one another especially with the lack of financial or family supports. The cost of the medical bills, much like it is for most, is worth our worry. Our household income makes it extremely difficult to qualify for various types of financial assistance, however, we are still attempting to apply. If you have any suggestions please share.

The cost for a PET scan itself is pricey even WITH insurance, is over thousands of dollars. The last one, taken in October 2025 when he was diagnosed for the relapse, being over $4000 with monthly minimum payments of $250. Ryan will need these scans every few months for approximately the next 2+ years. Ryan’s prognosis from his oncologist is very hopeful depending on his responsiveness to the treatment. It has not yet been confirmed of the exact type of cancer as he needs a pricey excisional biopsy performed to confirm what type of lymphoma it is.

If you have any advice or information to provide, please do share. I am Ryan’s fiancé, Shannon Savo Oeschger. These messages can be sent to me via Facebook. We thank you tremendously in advance as we do understand that everyone is dealing with their own struggles.
