Hello friends, family, and fellow travelers,

I was recently hospitalized for critical anemia and required a blood transfusion. I have been under the care of Scripps' best hematologist and oncologist, Dr. Alan Saven, but the subsequent iron infusions didn't do what we hoped. Unfortunately, there is still too great a variance in red blood cell size, and my lymphocytes are rapidly depleting.

Since we don't know how long this has been going on and something is still attacking my bone marrow; more specialist visits, GI and bone marrow testing, imaging, labs, and ongoing hematology/oncology care will be required.

Unfortunately, medical mysteries are costly, and while I wish I could say my Blue Shield PPO and the systems I have paid into for decades cover all the costs- but none of these entities accept "wishes" as payment.

I am humbly turning to you all to help me through this next phase of treatment, so I can get back to life and all it offers, with all of you.
