SAVE MY SON JASON

Donation protected

My son Jason has never been sick other your seasonal flu.  Last December 21st I flew to San Antonio, Texas to visit him for Christmas and was shocked at what I saw. He had a huge lump on his neck.  He didn't want to say anything to me because he didn't want me to worry.   Well, this mother did and we drove back to Los Angeles.  He was seen at emergency and they immediately suspected the worse.  On December 28th he was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma -  Stage II.

It was classfied as Stage 2 because tumors were found in 2 places - his neck and chest cavity.  The most dangerous one was surrounding a main vessel called the Superior Vena Cava and is inoperable.  Things started moving very quickly from there.  Jason went through 12 sessions of chemotherapy.  It was found that the two tumors where reduced but showed increased activity.  His doctor said he could go back to work but needed to follow up with radiation treatment.   The doctor in San Antonio disagreed with this and radiation treatment was never started.  Jason came back to Los Angeles to follow up with his original doctor and was immediately scheduled to see an oncologist at City of Hope Hospital where he was told he had the option of undergoing additional chemo or participate in phase II study of Brentuximab Vedotion as salvage therapy for Hodgkin Lymphoma prior to stem cell transplantation.  He chose to undergo the phase II study instead of additional chemo.  The doctor said he could continue working and fly back to Los Angeles for his treatments.

Jason received his first infusion on 9/28/2015 and flew back to San Antonio, TX to work.  He will need to fly back to Los Angeles every three weeks for additional infusions and then have follow-up PET scans.  He will ultimately still have to receive a stem cell transplantation and bone marrow transfer which will require him to stay in the hospital for 30 days.

Jason's ability to work is important for his state of mind, enables him to pay for medical expenses, and maintain his health insurance.  His work duties don't allow him to transfer to Los Angeles so flying back and forth is the only option.

His illness has been so hard on him, me and the entire family.  I can only think of positive results.   If I could take his place in order to save his life I would not hesitate.

Please help me by praying for him and others like him.

Funds raised will help with airfare from his home in San Antonio to Los Angeles where he can get proper care.
