It seems like yesterday that I had to ask for all your help. I was able to make it through a very cold and snowy winter because of your generosity and caring. I am so very grateful to have a community that supports me.

Since last year, my health has taken a new turn. My cervical spine surgery was canceled when the hospital in Fresno refused to accept me because of the severe cardiac and vascular problems that were found in pre-surgery tests. That has led to 2 heart procedures to look at my heart's condition and 1 to put in a stent. My PC Dr says it's a miracle I am still alive.

I feel autumn coming and then winter. I am not making it financially. I have gotten lots of help from my County Council on Aging, but it is not enough. Propane is now around $500 a fill-up, and it takes 3 to get through the winter. ( it is my heat, cooking and refrigeration fuel.) I have just had the clutch in my Mazda break, and the bid is $1900 to replace it. It is my low mileage way to go, and I use it to go to Fresno for Drs. I have also had to replace my battery, which was $147. My eyeglasses are $170. I have other bills and property taxes coming up. It's been a bit overwhelming, and I have fallen behind. I have done everything I can do alone and applied for every benefit I can get, and it is not enough to make it.

My only hope is to ask you for help one more time. I realize we are all facing hard times and I greatly appreciate anything you can donate. Every bit helps.

On September 28, 2024, I will turn 75 years old. 3/4 of a Century ...
