The other night, someone broke into the trunk of my car and stole two JBL speakers, 6 Shure mics, 1 kick drum mic and a whole bag of microphone and speaker cables. They also got away with two microphone stands. I didn't have renters' insurance, and although I've filed a police report and have been scouting the area pawn shops and Craigslist, I'm not feeling super confident that I will recover this gear. And still, the shows must go on. While Jah Works usually plays venues with sound systems, almost all of my solo and side project shows require me to bring sound production. Right now, I'm not able to do that with all that's been stolen. I'm not thrilled about making a public appeal suck as this, but a few friends encouraged me to start a gofundme page, so I'm giving it a try. If you feel inclined to help a working artist get back on his feet, I'd sure appreciate anything you could contribute. God bless you.
