41yo dad with neuroendocrine tumor spread to liver
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Tara Bugbee and my husband Ryan was diagnosed with a 15cm currently inoperable liver mass in December 2023 that has been determined most likely to be a bile duct cancer called cholangiocarcinoma after evaluation at Dartmouth Hitchcock in New Hampshire, Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute in New York.
Due to its large size and proximity to important blood vessels and ducts in the liver, it is currently not resectable. He is currently receiving systemic chemotherapy with the plan to shrink the tumor to make surgery a viable option.
We are seeking the third opinion at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NY as he may also be a candidate for a hepatic artery infusion pump which can pump chemotherapy directly through his liver mass if his current systemic chemotherapy regimen does not shrink it enough.
We live in Vermont and his treatment plan for any surgical intervention would require travel and multiple appointments in Boston or New York with minimal insurance coverage.
My husband is a stay at home dad for our 9 year old daughter and 6 year old son so that I can work full time as an Emergency Department doctor in New Hampshire.
So far we have seen the amazing generosity and support of so many people, including many we don’t know, so I am reaching out for any help with the medical costs with the plan to cure him!!
Thank you so much and I know that the power of good deeds and good people can help get us through this!!
