Hello, my name is Jerrin Holt and I humbly ask for help as I have a 40 man and woman crew that has driven 23 hours from Texas to Punta Gorda, Florida to work and assist in the hurricane relief efforts. We have literally been going through hell since we arrived. As majority minority group, it has been appalling and eye opening as we have been targeted and bullied the entire 2 weeks we've been in Florida by local authorities. We are working at ground zero and there are no hotels or accommodations. We've had to sleep in tents outside with no power or water for two weeks in literally water moccasin and alligator plagued wetland. We were kicked out of a public campground. Kicked off of a private piece of property by police and a tenant renting the back portion of a property after agreeing to rent it. Then we were kicked off another public state owned campground and were escorted by the Sheriff to a temporary housing parcel open land) directly in a flood zone in-between a landfill and swampland. We were given one week to find somewhere else to go and now a day before at 1 a.m. a hard, windy, cold mini-hurricane type storm hits our camp and floods the ground (standing water), breaks and blows down everyone's tents and leaves everyone wet and homeless this morning. Everything is lost! Clothes, electronics, phones, personal items, food and shelter. We are literally in a state of emergency with no help, nowhere to go and once again taking an unfortunate hit that we need help recovering from. We are discouraged, frustrated and in need of help! I don't understand the test at hand, but we are fighting to stay sane and not self implode. Please help these men and women who have traveled to sacrifice and bless others who are now in need of a blessing.
