Malakai V. Baldwin of Lahainaluna High School on Maui was relaxing with friends last Saturday near DT Flemings and Ironwoods Beach when a 400 Pound Boulder Crushed this 16 Yr Old Track Athletes leg. A flight for life helicopter rushed him to Maui Memorial where a
special surgeon was flown in from Oahu for a life saving procedure. As you can see, his knee cap (patella) was crushed and tendon separated, and tibia and fibula were completely crushed. After over 300 stitches and staples to deep tissues and muscle, Kai is now in a wheel chair and his future recovery is in the hands of more scheduled speciality surgeries, rehabilitation and the prayers of friends and family. We are believing for a full recovery. A GoFundMe page has been started to help the family recover from mounting medical expenses. Every donation counts, so please help with whatever you can.
