A Birthday Offering to Pachamama

For my 40th birthday, I’m inviting my community to support the planting of 4,000 native trees in the Andean mountains of Peru, in collaboration with a local, community-led reforestation project working directly with the land.

My intention is to raise $4,000 AUD, planting one tree for every dollar, and one hundred trees for every year of life I’m celebrating.

This is my birthday offering to Mother Earth, to future generations, and to the mountains that I call home and continue to teach me how to live in balance.

Your Contribution Matters

This project supports reforestation, regeneration and reciprocity with local communities.

  • $1 = 1 tree planted
  • $10 = 10 trees
  • $40 = 40 trees (a special birthday blessing)
  • $400 = 400 tress

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps regenerate land and plant life into the future.

Our goal: $4,000 AUD to plant 4,000 trees

Your donation helps fund:

  • Native and regenerative seedlings
  • Planting and land preparation
  • Local labour, planting and stewardship
  • Transport and on-the-ground costs
  • Community involvement and long-term growth
  • School supplies for local children (if we raise over $4,000)

In collaboration with The Willka Coca Project

Willka Coca was founded in 2017 by Jesus Coca, and from the moment of its inception it has been dedicated to the reforestation of native trees, and the protection of Sacred Valley’s local communities and ecosystems. Its purpose is to maintain a sustainable balance, recover damage created by mining operations, and generating greater biodiversity and security for future generations.

The trees that will be planted are native to the land, trees such as: Queuña, Chachacoma, and Molle. These trees are planted in strategic places in the Valley in co-operation with native communities. To this day, Willka Coca has planted over 10,000 trees.

The work is carried out by people who live on and steward the land, using local knowledge, traditional practices, and ecological understanding passed down through generations.

You can watch this video to hear directly about the vision, the trees, and the land being restored.

How and Where We Plant

Our trees are planted at strategic mountain locations called cuencas – the root zones of the highlands – in naturally fertile soils to ensure their long-term vitality.

The Willka Coca Project collaborates with local communities and farmers who are committed to organic, chemical-free agriculture. It also promotes a balanced reforestation strategy: prioritising native trees like Queuña, Molle, and Chachacomo, which restore ecosystems.

Transparency & Trust

This is a grassroots, community-led reforestation initiative, not a registered charity.

Donations are not tax-deductible. The Andes and surrounding highlands of Peru have experienced significant deforestation and ecological stress over many decades. You are contributing in trust and reciprocity to restore life in the Andes.

I am committed to sharing regular updates, photos, stories, and planting milestones so you can witness the impact of your contribution. I can also share a pin of the location, so if you do come to visit the Sacred Valley of Peru, you can also visit the trees you have helped to plant!

With Deep Gratitude

Thank you for celebrating this milestone with me in a way that honours not just my life but also the life of the planet.

May these trees grow tall.
May they purify the air, water, and soil
May their roots hold the mountains.
May these trees stand long after us.

With love and gratitude,
Zoi
