Help Zander Bright on his Healing Journey
On January 10th Our sweet spunky Zander was admitted to Sacred Heart Children’s ICU after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke that changed everything in an instant.
Zander's mommy and daddy Chelsea and Zach have stayed in the hospital with him around the clock. They have been sleeping in chairs and on couches. They will continue to be by his side until he can come home.
A CT scan was performed and found an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) which caused the aneurysm. As of today, little is known about how much damage Zander’s brain has endured as he still has swelling. He currently has right side weakness, some speech loss and is not able to sit up or walk on his own. Unfortunately, because of where the AVM is located a brain operation would be too risky. Neurosurgeons say at this point the only treatment available is radiation. Recently, it was decided that it is in his best interest to be transported to Seattle Children’s inpatient rehabilitation center.
Surgeons told Chelsea and Zach that it can take up to 3 years for the AVM to heal after radiation (Gamma Knife) but our next step on his healing journey is to support Zander and keep him comfortable as he is at risk for having another aneurysm.
Zander is an incredibly strong and resilient young boy and we believe in his ability to come through this.
As a family we are doing everything we can to support Zach, Chelsea, Zander, Maliha and Miles. The costs for care, therapy and upcoming treatments are overwhelming. This will be a long hard road for the Bright family.
We are asking for your help to cover out of pocket medical expenses, travel cost for out-of-town treatments and everyday expenses that insurance doesn't cover. Your donations no matter how big or small, will make a world of difference to the Brights and their family as we navigate this long and difficult journey.
If you are unable to help financially there will be a meal train set up at a future date. The goal is to lessen the mental burden on the Bright family as much as possible.
Please keep Zander in your thoughts and prayers and know that every bit of support means the world to us!
We are so grateful for the love and encouragement we have already received, and we can't do this without you!
Thank you for being a part of Zanders healing journey.
With love and gratitude,
Zander, the Brights, and family.
