My name is Anna Baker Cresswell and, with Cath Manuel, I am the founder of Therapeutic Garden Tours. We are both passionate about increasing the global reach of Horticultural Therapy (HT) amongst fellow Horticultural Therapists and other healthcare professionals and our first Tours of HT projects in the UK start on 28th September 2025.
When Inna contacted me on behalf of herself and Lada, Yuliia and Anastasiia to ask about Tour 1 and explained why they wanted to join the Tour and the benefits that having a network of HT contacts in the UK would bring to the client groups they are working with in Ukraine including veterans, widows and prisoners of war, Cath and I both knew we wanted to make sure they had adequate funding to travel to the UK and join the Tour, starting in London on 28th September, 2025. We have worked with Inna who will act as Translator for the group to ensure we have costed the trip to include flights, visas and subsistence.
In addition to the 5 days Inna, Yulia and Anastasiia will spend on the Tour, we want to use this opportunity (and your generosity) to enable them to travel from RHS Bridgewater near Manchester on the Friday of the Tour, to Perth in Scotland to meet Trellis, the leading Horticultural Therapy charity in Scotland and visit some projects there over the weekend.
How have we calculated the amount we need to raise?
Included in the cost are return flights from Ukraine to the UK, visa application, medical insurance, train travel and subsistence for the Trellis trip to Scotland and the cost of the Tour.
The total for each individual is £2,445
I am personally responsible for disbursing the funds to Inna, Yulia and Anastasiia and will ensure every penny donated is used to help them to develop their skills and networks for the benefit of others in Ukraine.
