4 Paws for Carson
Donation protected
This is Carson Alger and his beloved service dog, Sneakers. Carson was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. Autism is a neurological disorder that affects language, social/emotional development and motor skills. Autism affects Carson in every aspect of his life. He has a difficult time speaking, making connections and understanding the world around him. Carson and Sneakers have been best of friends since 2007. Sneakers unexpectedly died in October when a cancerous cyst in his chest ruptured. A cyst that we didn’t even know he had.
Sneakers was much more than a pet. He was Carson’s constant companion, supporter, protector, rescuer, and comforter. It is possible that Carson might not be alive were it not for Sneakers. Sneakers was trained in search and rescue and autism assistance. In all the years of therapies, medication, vitamin programs, etc... Sneakers was by far the BEST thing that ever happened to Carson. Sneakers can never be replace but Carson desperately needs another service dog to help him with day to day life.
How can you help?
His family is raising money for 4 Paws For Ability (www.4pawsforability.org) to get Carson another service dog. The current cost of training an autism assistance service animal is $30,000. 4 Paws requires a fundraising commitment of $17,000. However, since Sneakers was still a “working” dog when he passed away we are required to only fundraise $8,500. We know this is a lot of money, but with your help we can do it. If you can donate any amount at all it would be greatly appreciated!
If you prefer to write a check, please send your donation to (check payable to: 4 Paws for Ability):
