4 miles for Dakota Raine
*Donations still welcome. Event completed.
Adam ran 60 miles in 48 hours, April 23-25th.
We are raising money in aid of Sands (Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Society) and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to our family.
Sands supports anyone affected by the death of a baby, works in partnership with health professionals to try to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care and funds research that could help to reduce the numbers of babies dying and families devastated by this tragedy.
Dakota Raine Campbell was born, at peace, January 29th 2021 in Antrim Area Hospital with both parents, Christina and I by her side to embrace, comfort and love.
Dakota Raine only experienced love and comfort and this how we honour our precious daughter. Our friend, ally, singing queen and stargirl dancing with the stars.
Adam will honour Dakota by running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours commencing April 23rd at 1pm and concluding April 25th. Run's will be split between three locations that we cherish and spend most as a family. This includes Portstewart and Portrush beach as well as a few ocean dips along the way and our local trail.
We cannot thank the staff at Antrim Area Hospital for the love and kindness we received. We also want to show gratitude to Sands who provide support for those parents and families who have experienced a similar journey as us.
Each individual and parent who have shared this experience have their own journey. Grief doesn't have a time frame, nor is there a right or wrong way to respond. Grief is a process whereby we have to recognise the emotion that arises and give it time and space. We have many moments of sadness, pain, hurt yet we also permit joy and laughter.
This is how we honour Dakota Raine Campbell and we invite you to celebrate with us.
