Hi my name is Jocelyn and I am fundraising for 4 young women from Nepal, here studying at college. They were defrauded out of $3300, that they gave in good faith, for an apartment for first and last months rent. The apartment didn’t exist and the man who they sent their money to gave a fake name and showed them fake ID. He told them that he would show them the apartment after they sent the money. They all work the maximum amount they are allowed to work and have come to Canada due to the hard work and years of savings by their families. That amount is close to what the average Nepalese makes in an entire year, so it has impacted them greatly. We are hoping to raise the money back for them so that they don’t have to struggle for groceries and rent going forward.
