4 ABANDONED BABY DOMESTIC BUNNIES

On Tuesday November 6, 2018, two baby bunnies were rescued in West Toronto (Black Creek and Weston). Residents reported seeing as many as SIX domestic rabbits in the area, since around early September. Someone either decided to dump an unwanted litter of pet bunnies, or they dumped a pregnant female pet rabbit.

Domestic rabbits are a different species from wild Eastern Cottontails. They have little to no survival skills and typically perish when dumped outdoors (from disease, cars or predators like coyotes and hawks).

Miraculously, these two baby bunnies beat all the odds and survived!

Later in the week, TWO MORE domestic baby bunnies were captured in the same area. We believe they are all from the same litter.

That means FOUR baby bunnies survived being dumped and abandoned. Three out of the four are in decent shape, just starved and a little scruffy. Unfortunately the smallest of the four is really sick and has been to the vet twice already. She either has a digestive blockage or too much dangerous gas in her system.

We only know the gender of the smallest, (female), but we’ve given them all names anyway. Angel is the runt of the litter, Luna is the tan one, Aben is the chocolate brown guy, and Charlemagne is the other tan one. Aben and Charlemagne are best buds and don't like to be separated! (They won’t leave each other’s side!)

We are raising money to have all four rabbits seen by a rabbit savvy vet, as well as for the smallest one to receive the essential care he needs.

Once all four have been seen by a vet, we want to get them spayed and neutered (if they’re old enough!) and we want to find permanent homes for them. As Aben and Charlemagne are bonded already, and they will have to go to a home as a bonded pair.

Please consider donating to the care and rehabilitation of these four baby bunnies!

We will continue to post updates about this tiny fluffle here.

Thank you!!!

Love,
The Fantastic Four Bunnies

***IMPORTANT INFORMATION***
GoFundMe has asked us  to answer the following questions to make our campaign more transparent. Here are the questions and our answers to them:
1. Q: Who are you?
A: We are Hana, Neila and Laura, three women who care about animals and their welfare. We have also partnered with Toronto Rabbit Rescue, who will be helping us adopt out these rabbits once they are healthy and spayed/neutered. To find out more about Toronto Rabbit Rescue, visit their website http://torontorabbitrescue.org/ .
2. Q: Where are you from?
A: The bunnies were found in Toronto and we are all from the GTA.
3. Q: Describe your relationship to the parties you're raising funds for.
A: We are raising money for the veterinary care of the four rabbits we rescued personally. Any leftover money will be used for food (timothy/alfalfa hay, greens and pellets). If we raise over $4000, the rest will be donated to Toronto Rabbit Rescue's medical fund.
4. Q: How will the funds will be used?
A: We will use the funds to pay off the vet bills Angel has already acquired, as well as to pay for the remaining three rabbits to be seen by a vet. The money will be used to keep them healthy so they can be spayed and neutered and then put up for adoption by Toronto Rabbit Rescue.
5. Q: If you intend to withdraw the money, how you plan to send the funds to the parties you're raising money for or use the money on their behalf?
A: We intend to withdraw the money once the goal of $4000 has been met. This money will help us personally pay off vet bills we have paid for out of our own pockets. It will also be used to purchase hay, greens and pellets for the rabbits.
