HALF MAN HALF AMAZING

Who is Robert Bonini? “Bob” was born July 29 1952; He is a proud Grandfather of 1, A Father of 2, and A Husband of more than 40 Years, and a Genuine Friend to everyone who has had the pleasure to meet Him.

Bob is a very proud, hardworking, God-fearing man, whose personal perseverance and tenacity for enduring pain can only be described as Superhuman.

Bob is a not a super hero but he is a Hardworking Man who has never asked for a handout. Speak to any Yooper--they can tell you that their environment is hard and unrelenting truly a place where if you do not work you do not eat. The Village of Baltic in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is a true blue collar American city filled with people who rollup their sleeves and work for a living every day. Bob is one of these tireless workers who accomplish the impossible daily then head home where his work often continues. This herculean pace would surely break any man or women who is not blessed with Bob’s God given fortitude.

Seven years ago Bob was diagnosed with stage FOUR Throat Cancer. We want to be crystal clear “Robert (Bob) Bonini” is a non-smoker and has never been a smoker. Bob is also a non-user of any smokeless tobacco products and has never partaken in this practice. The cause of this horrible affliction remains a mystery.

What are the stages of throat cancer?

Throat cancer is identified by stages 0 to 5, explains Healthline. Stage 0 throat cancer means a tumor is present but hasn't moved beyond the throat; stage I indicates a tumor less than 7 centimeters, limited to the throat; stage II is a tumor slightly larger than 7 centimeters but still locally confined; stage III occurs when the tumor spreads to nearby tissues and organs; and stage IV describes a tumor that has spread to lymph nodes and distant organs. After surgery to remove the tumor and several treatments of chemotherapy and radiation, we are so thankful and feel so blessed that Bob is in remission. His determination and strong will to survive has him here with us today.

Sadly, recently, Bob was diagnosed with another issue; all of his lower teeth were abcessed and badly infected requiring extraction. Disappointingly, due to the cancer treatment and radiation that he received, his doctors discovered that there was no blood flow to his lower jawbone. This very painful ordeal was so serious that Bob, was unable to work floored by unrelenting pain with multiple emergency room visits for the pain management and the above-mentioned diagnoses.

In order to restore blood flow to his jaw, Bob had to undergo daily treatments in a hyperbaric chamber in Marshfield Wisconsin which is a Five Hour Drive One-Way For Approximately SIX WEEKS; five days out of the week Bob had to stay in this facility alone to ensure his wife Kathy was able to continue working to help cover these extraordinary expenditures which were not covered by His current medical insurance company. This of course added to the mountain of debt that has accumulated during this Seven-year fight for his life.

A blessing occurred when He was able to have the surgery to have his teeth extracted a few weeks ago. This was a very costly procedure, but absolutely necessary to get rid of infection and make Bob pain free for a while. Unfortunately, the insurance company has ultimately decided not to cover the cost of Bob's surgery.

Everyone who knows Bob and his wife Kathy can relate to the fact that they are always available and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Kathy and Bob did not want us to set up this fund, but the family and friends know that it will help them with a massive financial burden that no family can foresee or plan for in a lifetime.

Help us help provide a glimmer of hope for a wonderful Man who is a pillar, and a genuine hero to his community.

We have said before, Bob is a wonderful Grandfather, Father, Husband, and Friend to all in need.

Help us take on some of the burden for this wonder Man and his Family. Any type of donation would be so greatly appreciated.

God's peace to you all and to the Bonini Family.
