MOTHER'S DAUGHTER - Leila Boisvert's Thesis Film
Donation protected
When Amina returns home late one night, her mother is waiting, frustrated by the widening gap between their worlds. As they navigate a difficult conversation, generational and cultural differences come to light, forcing both women to confront their pasts and redefine their relationship.
Director:
Hi everyone! My name is Leila Boisvert, and I am a fourth-year directing student at DePaul University. I am very excited to announce that I will be directing my last film at DePaul, Mothers Daughter. This script is truly special to me, and I am so excited to share it with you all. I was able to tap into my Azerbaijani-American identity and write something I believe many others will resonate with as well.
Producer:
Hi! I'm Tanja, the producer for "Mother's Daughter". I'm so excited to be working on this, as I love working with Leila, and find this story very special and meaningful. When reading the script, the realness and relatability immediately stood out to me, and is something that I think will go a long way. I've gotten the opportunity to produce many projects over the years, and am so excited to expand my knowledge and learn more with this one.
FUNDRAISER:
We're fundraising to support this beautiful film and make sure it can live up to its full potential. Usually, we work 12 hour days on set every weekend, so staying energized and having nutritious food on set is incredibly important to us. We want to use the money, to feed our crew well, and make sure everyone can stay fit until the last minute. We will also use the money for other costs like permits, locations, production design, costumes, film festivals, and many other things that go into filmmaking. Your donation means the world to us, as it supports us in telling this special story and bringing Leila's creative vision to life.
