As you may or may not have heard by now there was a horrible fire recently in Fitchburg (Sunday, September 22nd, 2019) at the corner of Beekman Street and Salem Street resulting in 50+ displaced individuals from 20+ families that were left with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
This is a very sad situation, as many families lost important things that they had built up over the years from clothes
and furniture to more personal items and even other family assets.
Of the people that were affected in this tragedy, Rudi Hauptmann & Dan Plamondon.
Thankfully, they were not seriously injured. They are both employed here at Infineon/Hi-Rel and have been for many years.
They are 2 people that we have all worked with for a good deal of time, welcomed them into this company and see and talk to on a daily basis. Essentially, they are part of the Infineon/Hi-Rel family, as we all are.
We all have shared time with one or both of them on many occasions, whether it’s a simple “Good Morning”,
chit—chat in the hallway, to bumping into each other with friends and family members in town locally,
at the annual company outing or even sitting together at the table for the Christmas party.
The point is, that they are not strangers to any of us.
Right now, they are in need of all of the help that they can get and we can give a little to
take some of the burdens off of and ease some of the pain in seeking to replace absolutely everything they have lost so quickly.
What better way to show them both and their families that we are here for each other and we really do care for one another.
The bond we have is very strong here. Whether we all know it or not. It has been proven time and time again.
Collectively pulling together and helping them is what we know is right, what we need to do and what will prove to them that they,
like so many others here, do have a support system at Infineon/Hi-Rel.
We have all been through some tough times in our lives and it is always nice to know that the people that you work with
have also become the family that you work with. It is nice to know that we are here for each other,
especially for when hard times come up, like this one right now.
