Help Me Stay on the Path of Recovery
Hi, my name is Mark, and as of today, I have 324 days clean and sober.
Recovery has been the hardest and most important journey of my life. I’ve worked tirelessly to rebuild from the ground up — physically, emotionally, and spiritually. But I won’t lie: it hasn’t been easy.
Over the past year, I spent 9 months incarcerated. During that time, I made the decision to turn my life around — and I followed through. While in jail, I graduated high school, something I hadn’t thought possible before. That was the beginning of a new chapter for me.
Now that I’m back home, I’m living in a sober house and staying fully committed to my recovery. I’ve been clean for nearly a year, I attend meetings regularly, and I’ve even started applying to colleges — because I know my story isn’t over. In fact, it’s just getting started.
I’m reaching out for support because I’m doing this without any family backing. I’m actively looking for work, applying daily and showing up for interviews. But when I do find a job, I’ll have wage garnishments from old debts — which means even with a paycheck, I’ll be struggling to stay afloat.
I’ve set a goal of $2,500 to help cover:
Rent and essentials at the sober house
Transportation to meetings, job interviews, and school
Basic necessities like food and hygiene
Breathing room as I get back on my feet with limited income
If you’ve ever known the struggle of starting over — or loved someone who has — I hope you’ll consider donating or sharing this. Every little bit helps, and every kind word means the world.
This support would give me the space and stability I need to keep going strong, stay clean, and keep building a future I can be proud of.
Thank you for helping me hold on to what I’ve worked so hard to build.
— Mark
