On September 11th, 2024, one of my best friends and co-workers, Ashley, received news of having breast cancer . After many doctor's appointments and missed work, her diagnosis was: Pathologic Prognostic Stage 3A grade 2 ER/PR positive, HER2 negative invasive ductal carcinoma of the right breast associated with BRCA2 mutation. She was then scheduled for a double mastectomy and was forced to stop working full-time on November 15th. She has since been unable to come back to work as she is undergoing recovery and still going through treatment. Ashley has pretty much healed from surgery.
She just finished her first 4 rounds of red devil chemo and soon will be moving onto 12 rounds of Taxol and radiation after that, followed by 2 more surgeries that will happen in May or June. She is currently fighting to get her medical back in hopes of not having to pay out-of-pocket medical expenses.
She has a loving boyfriend, Matt, and two beautiful daughters, Alora, who will graduate this year, and Caraleigh, who is 11 and going into sixth grade. Ashley is a very loyal and giving woman, friend, daughter, partner, mother, and so many more titles. She would give you the shirt off her back and has helped so many family, friends, co-workers, and strangers.
And like always, treatment, life, and home expenses can be very stressful and very expensive. With Ashley being out of work, it has been and will continue to be a struggle with with day to day life expenses, bills, and now with upcoming extra medical expenses. I'm hoping to help a little with the help of everyone who knows and loves Ash to take some of the fears and stress of finances. Ashley is a very independent woman and mommy and is anxious to get back to work, but with treatment still going on and by Doctor's orders, this isn't an option for her as she can't fight off common sickness and illness. Help me show and give Ashley a little bit of love and hope. And if you're not in a place where you can help monetarily, please share, share ,share and like always prayers are always welcomed for Ashley and very appreciated. We love you, Ash!
