Save The Ballroom of Sacramento!!

Donation protected
The Ballroom of Sacramento has always provided a safe friendly place for all  to come together for dancing and companionship.  With the increased risk this virus possesses, management has determined that it cannot with a clear conscious, afford to put our good friends and loyal patrons at a health risk.  At the same time, I would like to be assured that once this health threat subsides, we will all continue to have a place to call home.

I’m asking you now to help me save my dance home. The place I’ve gone for the past 25+ years to get my dance on and engage my creative side. So much has happened from the time the floor was first installed, to the remodel, to the Salsa room, the great flood, room rebuilds and tear downs, and the most recent relocation. The Ballroom has endured it all because of you – its loyal and devoted clientele. But now, the studio we know and love may not be able to weather the storm of COVID-19. But I can’t let this take away my home without a fight. We can’t fund this through our normal means of a dance or special workshop. Go Fund Me is my hope and prayer to keep The Ballroom alive.

The relocation, due in no part to The Ballroom, had already required tightening the purse strings, but in true Linda fashion, no one was the wiser. However, with the Governor and the County of Sacramento recommending limitations on areas of congregation, the studio is not able to generate the funds needed to keep their doors open. While private lessons are still happening, the income from that alone is not enough to keep the business going until this pandemic is over. Management is working to minimize all costs associated with the studio, but they need our help. Rent is being assessed regardless of whether the business is open or not.

Go Fund Me requires that I place a full amount needed. The bare bones of what is necessary to keep the lights on is $1,675 per week. For the studio to stay open over the 6 weeks of anticipated limitations, it would need $10,000. I know that I am late to the party to ask for help, I was hopeful that a closure would not be necessary. It has become clear that the studio cannot stay open without this ask. The funds will not be used to pay instructors but only for rent, insurance, and utilities. Every dollar counts. Thank you for your consideration and help! #SmallBusinessRelief
