Support Rachel's Journey to Recovery

Rachel is one of my dear friends who has suffered a huge loss due to Hurricane Helene. Her house, her (and her child’s) belongings, photos, furniture, memories - all underwater and unrecoverable. No flood insurance to cover any of this. No savings or family to lean on.

She’s in need of immediate assistance as they’ve found themselves suddenly homeless and without a way to get by.

In case you don’t know her: Rachel is an amazing person with a heart the size of the Blue Ridge mountains that she loves so much. She’s a dedicated and amazing mother, ally, citizen, friend, and pet-mom. To know that’s she’s going through this disaster is truly heartbreaking.

Who I am: a longtime friend of Rachel’s that lives in California but was raised in the NC mountains. I also happen to have access to the internet and can help get this effort kicked off.

We don’t know what’s next and how long it will take, but let’s help her as much as we can to get on the best path forward.

Once I’m able, the money raised will go directly into her bank account. In the meantime, she’s agreed to have me collect funds on her behalf.
