Hello, my name is Jennifer Wirkus and this beautifully vibrant and full-of-life little guy is my son Jonathon. He is 12 years old and was hit by a car while riding his bike. Now, instead of hitting home runs or throwing touchdowns, he has to count on his family to feed him, help him use the bathroom, bathe, move at all, etc., because for the next few months he will be confined to a bed. He is very uncomfortable in a regular bed and needs a specialty one. He has broken his right wrist, left arm where the bone pierced through, and his left leg, which is broken right at his knee, which is his growth plate. He has pins and a plate in all three injuries. Please pray with me that his knee doesn't close up at the growth plate because then we run into more trouble. We have a very long road ahead of us. I just thank God every single day that he wore his helmet, or the outcome would definitely be so much worse. JJ is very strong and stubborn, with this incredibly huge heart! He just loves to love any and everyone. He is such a tough kid and way braver than anyone I know. He did not deserve this. I don't know how I got so lucky to have such a sweet, kind, helpful, and gentle soul as my son, but I did, and I am so grateful for him.

If you can, please donate to help with taking care of him these next few months. He needs a hospital bed, a mobile toilet, a shower bench, a wheelchair, and eventually a walker.
