American Muaythai pioneer and multiple time World Champion Ky Hollenbeck needs our help to get back in the ring.
Right before Ky was scheduled to fight for the Lion Fight world title it was discovered during his pre fight physical that his ACL was completely torn and he would not be cleared to fight. As it didn't happen in the fight but in training the promotions insurance does not cover it.
This heartbreaking news was compounded by the fact that it was the same ACL he had previously had repaired after his fight with Petrosyan, so he now needs two surgical procedures ... one to remove and repair the holes from the previous screws and tear, then will need to patched with bone putty and will have to heal for 6 weeks before he can be cleared for the Actual ACL surgery.
KY's insurance won't cover the 1st procedure and he can't get the 2nd until he does the 1st one.
One of the best orthopedic surgeons in the country has agreed to do the 1st procedure as a discounted cash pay, but the cost will still be between 7-10K.
Ky would never do this for himself so we at East Coast Muay Thai want to, for all he's done to help American Muay Thai grow and to get him back in the ring in 2017. We all know there isn't a ton of money in our sport, one thing we have an abundence of though is support. If we all pull togther we can get this done and help one of our own get back to competition. It's important we rally around our brother, and are always ready to step up for each other.
