Help Fund TRYON’s Largest Ensemble Album: Salmon Dreams
Hi everyone,
My name is Kellen Mills, and I am the bassist and composer for TRYON, a large ensemble that brings together some of the most creative and boundary-pushing musicians in the free improvisation and jazz scene. Today, I’m reaching out to ask for your support in bringing our most ambitious project to life—a new album titled Salmon Dreams.
About the Project:
Salmon Dreams will be the largest and most intricate ensemble project that TRYON has ever undertaken. This album will feature an amazing band of musicians and artists based in Berlin and Abroad!
Erik Leuthäuser and Kiki Manders on voice
Olga Reznichenko on piano
Andrew Moreno on guitar
Camila Nebbia on tenor sax
Peter Van Huffel on alto sax
Dovydas Stalmokas on baritone sax
Quentin Cholet & Daniel Schröteler on drums
Kellen Mills (myself) on bass
In addition to this core group, Salmon Dreams will include a myriad of special guests that will be revealed during the recording process!
The album is about climate change, war, atrocities going on in the world and a commentary on music in general. How can we survive as artists in this new landscape. And does art help change the world around us?
Why We Need Your Support:
Creating an album of this scale is a monumental task, especially in the current climate where independent artists face unprecedented challenges. We need to raise at least €6,000 to cover the essential costs of this project, including:
Recording: 5 days in the studio, engineering, and mixing .
Musician Fees: Paying everyone for their performances including guests.
Production: Mastering the tracks, designing the album artwork, and producing physical copies (CDs, vinyl) are all necessary steps to bring Salmon Dreams to life.
Promotion and Distribution: To ensure that this album reaches a wide audience, we will invest in marketing, PR, and distribution channels.
As an artist, I’m personally contributing everything I can to make this album happen, including going into debt. However, the scope of this project is such that I cannot do it alone. That’s why we’re turning to our community of supporters—people like you who believe in the power of independent art and music.
What Your Support Means:
By contributing to this campaign, you’re not just helping us create an album—you’re supporting a project that embodies the spirit of artistic collaboration and resilience. Your donation, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in helping us reach our goal.
Thank you for considering supporting TRYON and Salmon Dreams. Your belief in independent art and music means everything to us, and we are incredibly grateful for any contribution you can make.
