Help Tovar Get A License
Donation protected
As many of you know now I have been struggling with getting my license privelages back now for over a decade. Currently the state of Arizona is holding my license privelages, they have been for the last 18 years. (Over 3 no proof of insurance tickets and a speeding ticket.) They sold my debt to a place called Van Ru Credit corporation. Long story short if I want to drive again I need to pay them. $7,635.00, for those 4 tickets... I've tried to settle with both the above stated credit company and the state of AZ. I've also procrastinated, ignored, and just flat out have run from this problem for far to long.
Since posting my "Manifesto" the other day I've had numerous people suggest that I look into a project like this. Initially I was unsure what I should set my goals at. I researched different fundraising sites, contiplated prizes I could give away for donations. In the end I chose this site because they don't have a limit on when I can reach my goals. Also, any money I raise, regardless if I hit my maximum goal will go towards my credit debt with the state of AZ.
I will be giving prises out as well to local people in the Twin Cities who want to donate. I struggled with doing a fundraising campaign at all. Most people that know me, know that I hate asking for anything. I'm a pretty quiet introverted person in my personal life. So asking for help at all involed me swallowing a lot of my pride.. If you put in $100 donation, I'll give you 2 hours of equivalent mechanical labor free. $200, 5 hous free labor. $500 (I don't think this is happening?) Lifetime grease monkey at your service!
I don't really know what to expect from all of this. To be honest I'm not sure I'll hit anywhere close to this goal. I've never measured my friends or family by what I could gain financially from them. That being said, obtaining a Drivers license would be pretty life changing for me. I would be able to come out of the shadows and join society as a productive member and such. Possibly open up a garage designed to help the local comedy community with their beat up old cars. Hell, I might even accidentally end up doing stand up and hitting the road again like I originally dreamed of when I first moved here. The posibilities of what I could do with a license are literally limitless. I'm hoping a few of you agree enough to help out a little..
Thank you all very much,
Tovar
