Hello Everybody,
First off I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this story and hopefully open up your hearts to a cause greater than any one person can handle by themselves.
My boyfriends name is AJ Harris and all donations will be going to his cause:
AJ has been a type 1 diabetic since the age of 10. Since the age of 18 he has had a rare blood clot disorder/blood mutation called MTHFR, that has specifically been effecting his left leg preventing him from any running or jogging. Even walking on a daily basis can, and has, caused blood clots. After high school AJ followed his dreams by attending and graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in New York. Being a professional cook and working on his way to become a chef requires long hours; 12 or more hours a day on his feet in the kitchen.
After working in kitchens for five years now after graduating, these long hours have caused stasis ulcers to form on AJ's left leg. They started out small but have grown and multiplied to five separate ulcers forming in different regions of the lower left leg.
With AJ having diabetes it causes him to have a weak immune system and takes him an incredibly long amount of time to heal. He has had these ulcers for nearly two years and they have done nothing but gotten worse despite going to the dermatologist/wound care two times a week, having his ulcers medciated and wearing a cast boot on his leg 24/7.
AJ's doctor has just informed him that if his ulcers do not heal within one year then they will have to resort to amputation.... A fate that nobody wants to see him go through. One year off of work is what his doctor said it will take for his leg to properly heal.
AJ is currently 25 years old and living in New York City. He has taken one month off of work to help his ulcers heal, but one month is all he can take off of work and still be albe to pay rent, utilites as well as his many medications. For his leg to heal he needs at least one year off of work which requires money to come from outside sources other than himself. We have looked into him going on disability and social workers have informed us that he would not receive enough money to support himself.
I am asking for you, from the kindness of your hearts to donate any amount of money to help AJ out so that he can take the amount of time off of work that he needs to heal his leg so that he does not have to get it amputated.

Thank you for your time and donations.
God Bless.
We are thankful for anything given and all shares.
