Hi, I'm Leann, one of Michele's co-workers at Lake Oswego School District.

Over the past 7-8 months, Michele has been seeing doctors, getting tests, having surgery, and is now in her second round of treatments. Her personal bank of sick leave was soon exhausted. The District provided some relief covering additional sick leave over the past few months but that coverage ran out; meaning, no work - no pay!

During all of this time, Michele commuted to her job, as the district courier, and worked as much as she could. Like many of us, without a steady income, she struggles to pay her monthly bills, gas, food, etc., so she continues to come to work daily in a courageous effort to keep a paycheck.

Please consider making a donation so that Michele may take off a day or two once in a while to rest and recover, saving her strength to get healthy without experiencing financial distress. At this point, her treatment will need to continue, at least, for several more months.

Michele needed another surgery and more treatment. She continues to struggle with enough sick leave, and state family leave, which may not cover her full salary, and other expenses during her necessary recovery.
