Brody's Blizzard Blunder

Brody has a long story full of ups and downs. He has had a difficult life for his few years of age, but Dr. Kathi Werden does her very best to improve that life any way possible. After seeing his anxiety and unique attachment to her, she understood that he needed her...forever. After failed attempts to rehome him, she knew she had a new four-legged furry friend permanently joining her family.
The best way to explain Brody's current predicament is to say that he has such severe separation anxiety, he does crazy things when Kathi leaves town. Unfortunately, being a veterinarian requires hours of continuing education that are offered at out of state conferences. Although Brody was able to stay home with his furry family, his human dad, Long, and his normal daily routine, he still missed Kathi so much that his anxiety got the best of him.
Brody told Kathi Friday evening, as winter storm Jonas attacked the region, that he had eaten something naughty. He became very sick, very fast. Kathi, Long, and their newborn son, Thomas, braved the blizzard to get him to the emergency clinic by 2am. Diagnostics confirmed the worst; Brody needed emergency surgery.
Due to the blizzard conditions, the surgeon wasn't able to get to the emergency clinic until the following afternoon. Even though Brody had to wait a while, he finally went to surgery where they found he had eaten a towel-like object that had obstructed his stomach and intestines.
Thankfully, Brody was able to receive the care he needed despite the weather. Sometimes life throws is into impossible situations, however, and Kathi nearly had to end Brody's life because she couldn't afford the surgery necessary to save him. With a new baby and many human medical costs recently, not to mention life's other curveballs, we need to ask for some help paying for Brody's emergency surgery. It doesn't matter how much, and it's ok if you just can't, but if you wouldn't mind sharing the post, that's the least we can ask.
Brody deserved this chance, this surgery. Dr. Werden gives her all to others, family or not. Her heart knows no bounds. If you can help, in any way, we say please and thank you.
