Dads Funeral Cost To Help Mom

First, I would like to thank all friends, family, and strangers who have reached out with love and concern. It has helped more than I can put in words. Now that family and friends are leaving, the loneliness is starting to set in. Especially today for Father's Day.
Here is the story I wish I never had to tell.
Me and dad were hauling horses home from California. It's over 30hrs drive so we were both exhausted from driving. I dozed off in the passenger seat after seeing the western store in Weatherford. I woke up about a mile down the highway where dad's truck had collided into a semi-truck pulled over from a flat tire and the horse trailer jackknifed with dad's truck crushing it in from the front and rear. I climbed out of the front window and saw my whole world turned upside down.My two best mares were trying to stand in the trailer despite severe injuries, but fell over within seconds.My puppy Wyatt was under dads feet barely alive, trying to crawl out to my screams. He didn't make it. And worst of all, my dad was sitting in the driver seat forever asleep.He was the best of men and best of fathers. He was the glue to our family. He finally collected all the implements needed to farm within the last year and retiree to be a full time farmer, but never got to live out the dream. We hope to maintain the best we can with wheat and cattle.
I ask that instead of flowers or gifts, a donation be made to help mom with dad's funeral costs and odds and ends to help mom on the farm this next year. Mom doesn't know about it and would never ask for help, but any help would greatly ease her and the family. If you know my mother, you know how giving she is so she would never accept something directly to her.

I'll leave you with one thing...I wish I knew when dad would go. I'd say less of the things I shouldn't and more or the things I should. Words can be strong and memories can last forever, so try to make the best choices you can with your loved ones because one day you may close your eyes with everything and reopen them to nothing.
