hi, I’m Alexa and I have a rare disease called SCA3. It affects all movements specially the voluntary like talking, walking, swallowing, seeing, etc. it’s progressive. My symptoms started in 2012. It got worse.
I am from Rio and I live in Finland. I came six years ago with my ex-husband and daughter. I have no knowledge of her since October 2024. there was no mediation from the social services. I met the social worker responsible for her case briefly three times and demanded a lot of work to make this happen. I don’t know the man very well, so I don’t understand his reasons for not doing his job. So I still have no contact whatsoever by any means with my daughter for more than a year and a half and no way to make it happen. Due to several other traumas that happened last year, which I explained on my videos, my health was brutally affected. Before I could go out by myself, I could cook I could live on almost normal life.
Now I need help more help because my helpers only have time to make food and help me with home things. I’m applying for the third time for more hours so I can go out with the Helper.
As last year, I was really debilitated, even as I went through horrible situations, I had to go to the hospital several times due to complications from my disease.
So I have lots of medical bills, medicine to pay, nutritional drinks, rent, home bills. I also want to travel to visit in Rio, the tickets are pretty expensive and also I need a Helper to go with me.
I also need a life. I’m only surviving. Living alone in my apartment and being totally isolated from the world not because I want to. This is not loneliness. It’s isolation. Which affects very badly the brain.
I need glasses because my sight it’s bad I can’t read.
I also need to buy a computer because it has been hard managing my life with the cell phone my hands shake for I also have Parkinsonism.
There is no cure for my disease and no treatment
I have no support network in Finland. Once a year, one or two acquaintances comes to visit. Because people are busy, living their lives, which makes sense to have a social life too any kind of social life.
I’m here to ask for your donation humbly, any amount helps.
I will be forever grateful.
Please help me to get some relief and peace and dignity. Thank you.
Yours, Alexa
