My Sister's Family

Hello all...This is one of the most challenging things to ask for help, as I wish I could help myself. My amazing sister Gina and her family are going through some major struggles in their life right now. Her husband John has always been a rock to say the least. He has worked at least two jobs since he married Gina 30 years ago. A few years back he was diagnosed with ALS. We were able to see Gina and the family for the first time this past Easter after 15-plus years. It was apparent that John was progressing very quickly. Only a few short weeks later, John declinded and was admittied to the hospital with a ventilator. It was touch and go for weeks. They finally moved him to a rehab where he has been stable but with a tracheotomy ever since. He worked for UPS for 14 years and had excellent benefits. Due to an error caused by the state, his insurance was canceled. Things are being worked out finally and new paperwork was submitted, but again one thing after another.

We got good news a couple of months back that her oldest daughter Mahayla was pregnant with her first child. Everyone is beyond excited. Unfortunately, last night she was admitted to the hospital with preclamsia and unless things change, the baby will have to be delivered early, he isn't due until November. My sister has run out of mental strength as well as is financially drained. She works as a pre-school teacher but that is not enough to pay her rent, car, etc. The state is lagging in the help for her and her family. Any help is beyond appreciated. They are such great people, with great hearts. Thank you and God Bless.
