For those that don't know - my sister, Amy was diagnosed with brain cancer at the end of August. She was in the ER Friday 8/23 where an MRI showed a tumor, and by the next Saturday she was in the hospital getting it removed. She is currently in the middle of chemotherapy and radiation and taking it "one day at a time." I'm setting up this fundraiser to help ease the burden of incoming medical bills and am hoping to take some of the stress away.

Amy wanted to say a few words:

"Saying this isn't easy. My name is Amy and I was diagnosed with brain cancer after a successful surgery. Unfortunately, it's not just a tumor. The rollercoaster of emotions since hearing the diagnosis and learning what this means for me, my boyfriend, my family, and everyone around us makes me sad.

Multiple people have reached out to me asking for my GoFundMe page and early on I told them, that if at all possible, I wouldn't be making one because I was raised that you work for what you need. But- I also promised multiple family members/friends that I wouldn't let my pride stand in the way of asking for help, especially if the medical bills coming my way would ruin my family's future. Brain cancer has already mentally taken its toll, and the healing can only come with time, grace and prayer.

Many family members and friends have already sent beautiful cards and generous gifts. Please don't donate and stretch yourself financially thin. I also request that no one feel obligated to donate. Please only donate if your heart/financial situation compel you to do so. One last thought- I promise that when I finish treatment (AND I KNOW I WILL!) that this diagnosis will not define the rest of my life. I've created a list of dreams, goals, and aspirations for myself and my family/friends that I plan on achieving.
