Hi everyone,

I am Michael’s sister. As many of you already know, my brother Michael was in a terrible accident early Monday morning. He was life-flighted to University Medical Center, where he’s been receiving care for multiple serious injuries.

Michael lost a lot of blood and suffered many deep cuts and bruises that required stitches and staples. His hip was shattered, His spleen as the doctors said was basically “split in half” he has a kidney abrasion as well as a small brain bleed that doctors are monitoring closely but believe will heal on its own. Yesterday, he had a procedure to stop severe bleeding from his spleen, and check out his kidney, this afternoon he went into surgery to repair his hip. The surgery went well but had to give him more blood in the operating room. He is currently stable but definitely not out of the woods. He still has bleeding in his spleen and kidney but as I stated it is being monitored very closely.

Michael has a long road to recovery ahead and will be out of work for quite some time. As many of you know, Michael has a family that he is the sole provider for: a 5-year-old son and his girlfriend. Whatever money is raised will go towards bills and his recovery so he can take the time to heal and not worry about money for a little. We are beyond grateful that he’s still with us. He’s one of the strongest people I know, and we have faith that he’ll pull through this. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers — they mean more to us than words can ever say.
